OAKLAND — The city’s fire marshal testified Thursday that a 2014 report on dangers inside the Ghost Ship warehouse that a fire captain claims to have written has never been found, and lawyers say they doubt it exists. Fire Marshal Miguel Trujillo’s rebuttal came just hours before Judge Jeffrey Horner ordered defendants Derick Almena and Max Harris to stand trial on 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter stemming from the deadly Dec. 2, 2016 fire at the warehouse. On Tuesday, Oakland fire Capt. George Freelen testified during Almena and Harris’ preliminary hearing that after he visited the doomed art collective, he sent a report to the fire marshal’s office warning of its potentially disastrous conditions.
